Bank Burners: Heart Stopping Moment

Met at the start on another beautiful morning.

Bank Burners were up, but Hector and the Homos finally lost their nerve and refused to get up for a 9am start. They had a taste of the easy life last night in Monaco and wanted more so stayed in bed!!!

We are now in Spain.

Just before the border we had a heart stopping moment. Phil said we lost all power, and while we tried to carry on there was a terrible smell.

We would normally put this down to Craven, but as he was still in bed we decided to stop the car!

The rear brakes were on fire!! We soon realised Phil had left the handbrake on at the last toll booth. Ran slowly for a few miles to cool the brakes, to much beeping from fellow rally cars. All fine now though!!

Beachward bound.......

Bank Burners: Barcelona Girls love Zebra Fur

Hector and the Homos bring the traffic to a standstill with their Zebra Focus. "Girls love the feel of it Lenny said." "They kept curling up on my bonnet, do you know how hard it is to drive with two girls on my hot hood?"

Bank Burners: Good Boy Rover

Well, we made it. A long journey, but an experience we will cherish for a lifetime.

Good old Rover got us to Barcelona after over 1750 miles. It didn't skip a beat, a testament to the Longbridge legacy!! Not out first choice of performance car but a faithful companion over the mountain passes!!!
Our Rover, too good to leave behind. Gone to one of the other teams, it's coming home to blightly.

HOT FUZZ. I tell you what some teams will go to great lengths to knock their opponents off their perch. This was our newest team member who we took in because he was abandoned on the St Bernards Pass tampering with the Thunderbird Car so that we could gain an advantage !! But it wasn't meant to be so well done boys !!

Premiere Classe?

We think there may be a lot of midgets in Arles, judging by the size of our hotel rooms.

The Vuvuzelas

We have made it to the South Of France where the sun is shining and
the food fantastic....Last bit of driving to Barcelona and car is
still good. (Amazing how if you ignore problems and then they just
seem to go away....problem solved:))

R.I.P Mystery Machine :-(

Scooby Don'ts are stuck in Brignoles after the Mystery Machine died on us late last night.

Engine blew up big style - hey if you're going to break down do it properly ;-)

Thanks to the teams who spotted us on the side of the road in the dark and stopped to offer assistance - particularly the Iron Lady Boys in their hire car after an equally bad day.

It was a sad sight to see the Mystery Machine on the back of the flatbed truck.

AA have arranged a hire car for us and we should see everyone down in Barcelona! Looking forward to the party!!!

Big shout out to all those whose cars didn't make it either. In eulogy to the Mystery Machine - she served us well and we loved her to the end. Scooby dooby doo!
